WEB DESIGN FOR SERVICE BUSINESSES

A website that shows your work
and makes it easy to get in touch.

I’m Kyle, the designer behind Oakstep Studio. I build mobile-friendly websites that explain your services, showcase your work and help customers contact you. Need a new site or improvements to your current one? I can help with either.

SEE WHAT I CAN BUILD

Three example websites.
Three different styles.

Open a site to explore the design and try its features. These are fictional businesses I created to demonstrate my work.

Portfolio concepts, not client projects. Images are illustrative and inquiry, booking and automation features are simulated. Your proposal will specify which features are included.

HOW I CAN HELP

What I can do for your business.

A new website from the ground up, or focused improvements to the site you already have. Built around your services and the way customers contact you.

01

A new website for your business

A mobile-friendly website that brings your services, service areas, and approved project photos together, with a clear way to request a quote.

  • One mobile-friendly page with up to six services
  • Service areas, contact details and up to 12 supplied photos
  • One agreed inquiry path or your existing booking link
  • Two consolidated rounds of revisions before launch

02

Focused updates to your existing site

Keep what works. Improve the parts that make it hard for customers to understand your services or take the next step.

  • A specific list of agreed improvements
  • Clearer service and contact information
  • Mobile layout and inquiry-path improvements
  • Existing booking and email preserved

A fixed quote.
A clear decision.

Start with a short brief. After reviewing your needs and existing setup, I’ll propose a fixed scope and price. You can review both before deciding. Domain, hosting and any paid services are listed separately; extra work needs a separate agreement.

What you provide

Your service details, areas, approved photos and correct contact information. I organize that material into the agreed page. We confirm any content gaps before starting.

What we agree first

The deliverables, price, payment schedule, revisions, ownership, handoff and support. Timing is confirmed after reviewing the scope, content and access needed.

What stays separate

Extra pages, photography, advertising, ongoing SEO, custom booking and AI automation. Optional maintenance is scoped separately. A one-time repair does not require a monthly plan.

A SIMPLE PROCESS

How we’ll work together.

  1. 01

    Understand the need

Start with your current site, your customers and the action you want them to take. Email is fine.

  2. 02

    Agree the work

Review the scope, price, revisions, ownership and ongoing costs before deciding to proceed.

  3. 03

    Review, check, launch

Approve the content and design. Check the agreed customer path, then authorize the launch.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK

Hi, I’m Kyle.

I’m Kyle Ricker, the designer behind Oakstep Studio and a student at the University of San Diego. I work remotely with owners wherever they’re based.

I’m starting with focused projects where the scope is clear and I can work directly with the owner. You’ll know who is doing the work, what we’ve agreed to, and what needs your approval.

The concepts above show my approach. As I complete client projects, I’ll share them here with the owner’s permission.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Before we start.

How much will my website cost?

I quote a fixed project price after reviewing your brief and the work involved. The quote separates the build from hosting, domain, mailbox and any paid tools. You’ll see the scope and costs before making a commitment.

Does a concept include everything in the standard service?

No. The concepts demonstrate design ideas and possible interactions. Your written scope lists the features included in your project. Custom planners or integrations are assessed separately; the standard service includes one agreed inquiry path or an existing booking link.

What happens after I send my brief?

I’ll review the brief and respond personally with any questions. If the project is a fit, we’ll agree the scope, price and timing in writing. Sending an inquiry does not book a project or commit you to payment. You can keep the conversation by email.

Can we work together if I’m outside your area?

Yes. I work remotely with business owners worldwide. We can discuss your project by email or arrange a call. Before agreeing to the work, we’ll confirm the language, time zone, payment arrangements, and any requirements specific to your business.

Can you work with my existing website?

Possibly. First I’ll check the platform, the access you can provide, and the changes you need. I won’t propose replacing a site that already does the job well.

What will you need from me?

Your services, service areas, contact details, and photos you have permission to use. We’ll also agree on the wording and any reviews you want to include. Please don’t send passwords; we’ll use appropriate collaborator access if needed.

Who owns the website and domain?

Your domain should be registered in your name. The proposal will state ownership, third-party licenses, account access, and the available handoff or export options before you commit.

Can you guarantee more leads?

No. I can help make your business clearer online and give visitors a practical contact path. Traffic, rankings, and sales depend on factors beyond the website.

Do you build AI assistants or automated scheduling?

Those require separate discovery and technical validation. They aren’t included in the standard website service. The interactive concept shows simulated possibilities, not connected production systems.

A SIMPLE FIRST STEP

Let’s see what
your website needs.

Share the business, the problem and the next step you want customers to take. You don’t need a finished plan. We can work out the scope together by email.

  1. 01
    You share the brief.

Review your message before sending it.

  2. 02
    I review it personally.

We clarify the need, fit and any missing details.

  3. 03
    You decide on the proposal.

Scope, price and timing come before a commitment.
